Audun - our 2024 limited edition knife

The 2024 limited edition Helle knife was designed by our master craftsman Audun. Starting in 1973, Audun first produced cutlery and then took over as chief craftsman and foreman. He has worked with three generations of Helle over the last 50 years and has played an integral part in many of our internal projects. Helle developed from Audun, and Audun developed from Helle.

“My whole life has been good work. When I came home to my wife and children when they were younger, there were always a few shavings of my clothes on the bathroom floor. Then my wife said to the children, "We live on wood shavings."

This year, Audun created his own favorite knife, drawing on over 50 years of knowledge and skill. The finished product is a stunning knife that combines both a new and old Helle knife. It has a classic H3LS laminated steel blade with a Scandinavian cut and a light drop point. The shape and size of the blade make it ideal as a universal hiking companion.
The handle is made of two of Auduna's favorite materials. The front is made of reindeer antlers, protected at the front with a stainless steel plate. The front can be easily integrated with a colorful curly birch handle. The oil mixture used to color the handle is a special Auduna recipe, which creates a dark red and brown shade - a beautiful contrast to the white reindeer antlers. It has the added benefit of smelling like you just lit a campfire. The shape of the handle is characterized by a traditional belly, characteristic of many Helle knives, while the spacious head tips its hat to newer designs.

The knife comes with Audun's own version of his favorite Helle sheath. As a craftsman, he loves birch, and the symbol on the front of the scabbard is a spring birch.
