Professional, compact Xtar MC2 Plus processor charger
for Li-ion batteries in sizes 18650 and others.

The most important features:

•processor-controlled three-stage charging process TC/CC/CV
• automatically selected charging current 0.5A / 1A
• two independent charging channels
• powered by any micro USB charger (min. 1A)
•small dimensions - easy to carry
•reactivation function of deeply discharged cells
• protections: short-circuit, thermal, reverse polarity protection

A fully professional processor charger with a three-stage TC/CC/CV charging process is hidden in a small housing.
Charges 3.6 / 3.7V Li-ion cells of any capacity in sizes 10440, 14500, 14650, 16340, 17500, 17670, 18350, 18500, 18650, 18700, 20700, 21700, 22650, 25500, 26650.

What is the TC/CC/CV charging method? It is a three-stage Li-ion cell charging process that ensures the cell is maintained in good condition by charging with the right current at each stage and ending the charging process at the right time.

The individual stages of the TC/CC/CV process are:
• TC phase: cells discharged below 2.9V are 'wake up' with a lower current.
•CC phase: after reaching 2.9V, the cell is charged with a constant current of 0.5A (batteries up to 54mm long) or 1A (batteries over 54mm long).
•CV phase: when the cell is almost charged, the charger switches to charging with decreasing current until the cell voltage reaches 4.2V. After reaching 4.2V, the charging process is complete - the battery is fully charged.

Batteries with a voltage of 4.1V or higher are treated by the charger as charged. To fully charge such a battery, insert it into the charger before connecting it to the power supply. Charged batteries left in the charger will undergo a natural self-discharge process. Charging will resume when the battery voltage drops below 4.1V.

The Xtar MC2 Plus charger has the function of reactivating deeply discharged cells and cells with a voltage of 0V. Many chargers on the market are not able to charge such batteries. This is where the Xtar MC2 charger comes in handy, which in many cases allows you to 'rescue' such cells. Just insert a deeply discharged battery into the MC2 charger, as with normal charging - the charger will detect a discharged cell and attempt to reactivate it. Attention! Cells discharged below a certain level are irreparably damaged and may not be reactivated. Too deep discharge of Li-ion batteries should be avoided - this may lead to a significant decrease in their durability and capacity or lead to their complete inoperability.

Chargers from other manufacturers can significantly increase the temperature of the charged cells during charging. Excessive heating of the cells can cause their faster wear. When designing the MC2 Plus charger, Xtar went a step further than the competition, solving this problem in a simple way: an external power supply was used. Thanks to this, the temperature of the battery charged in the MC2 Plus will increase by no more than 15 degrees.

The Xtar MC2 Plus charger comes complete with a micro USB cable and a cover protecting the charger during transport. The power supply is not included in the set. To power the charger, any charger with a micro USB cable, e.g. from a phone, or a USB socket or a computer with a free USB port is enough. The recommended power of the USB adapter is 2A (2000mA). It is possible to use a 1A charger, but in this case the charging time will be longer.
