In Taida Glass stones, white corundum, which is one of the hardest minerals in the world, is attached to a base made of tempered glass. This type of sharpener wears much slower than traditional water stones, it does not need to be soaked in water before use (just spray it with water) and, most importantly, you can use the sharpener to the end because the glass prevents the stone from breaking even if there are a few millimeters of abrasive material left.
