Gerrit and Andy, better known by their nickname "Naturensöhne" (sons of nature), inspire over 490,000 followers on their YouTube channel with their entertaining content on bushcraft, camping, hiking and equipment testing. Over two years ago, we started working with two Berliners on the concept of their own Naturensöhne knife. Due to their nomination for the third episode of the successful YouTube format 7 vs. Wild, in which seven teams must survive in the wilderness on their own equipment, made the demands of our collaborative project even more difficult. Since all the gear had to be stored together in a 1-liter Nalgene bottle, we had to completely rethink the dimensions of a sturdy outdoor knife. The result is Naturensöhne MK. And: a special version of our successful Outdoor/Bushcraft Böker Bronco. While the full-length handle securely wraps around the entire tang and provides the usual excellent hand position and grip, the blade offers exactly what you expect from your most important tool during uncompromising outdoor use in the 14-day Canada: exceptional edge hold, shock load tolerance, resistance to cracking and shatter resistance. This is possible not only thanks to the use of CPM 3V metallurgical powder steel, but also the attractive Premium Hardur coating, which is used only in high-quality cutting and punching tools. About. The 5 µm thick Hardur coating, which also covers the cutting phase, significantly increases the life of the blade and also provides a surface with reduced friction. As lovers of True Scandi, the Sons of Nature had no alternative to choosing the cut of their blade. The advantages are obvious: an extremely sharp bevel does not require a secondary bevel. Especially when batoning, the Scandi shows very good cutting properties and a high degree of stability because the entire blade thickness is maintained at approximately 2/3 of the blade height. The resulting greater mass of the blade also provides more mass when chopping than a flat grind. Thermoplastic TPE was used as the handle material. It is indestructible and, in addition to perfect hand positioning, ensures the desired work safety in both dry and wet conditions. The premium equipment is complemented by a compact Kydex sheath which, thanks to the included Ulticlip, ensures that the most important tool will not let you down. Entirely made in the Boker factory in Solingen.
