The Dönges Expert series are specialized tools for difficult and demanding rescue operations. There are two models in this series. What they have in common are covers made of red G10 with a non-slip honeycomb structure, blades made of sharp and rust-resistant D2 steel and a glass breaking element. Both knives have multiple cutting edges that are uncompromisingly suitable for cutting ropes, harnesses and clothing of injured persons. The Expert series consists of a pocket knife with two blades and a fixed knife.
The only fixed blade in this series has a double-edged blade. The bottom is smoothly sanded along its entire length. There is a sharp serrated edge on the back intended for fibrous materials. There is a seat belt cutter at the back behind the tip of the blade. The tip is designed as a blunt leverage point, but is intentionally ground thin. This means it can be driven with little force into very narrow gaps, such as the gaps in nailed boxes or between the frame and door of stuck fuse boxes. The full-tang design features distinctive steaming elements, the top of which is designed as an integrated cap lifter. The knife fits securely in the included Kydex sheath and can also be secured with a detachable latch made of fiber-reinforced synthetic material. The Kydex sheath can be attached to the device using a modular clip made of stainless steel or using cable ties through holes reinforced with rivets.
