Helle Fjellkniven 12C27 knife

Since Helle was founded in 1932, our offer has always included Fjellkniven. The idea behind the knife has always been that it should be an elegant knife rooted in Norwegian nature. The modern version of the Fjellkniven highlights simple elegance, with a solid dwarf birch wooden handle and a highly polished three-layer steel blade.

Simple elegance is perhaps the reason why Fjellkniven has been one of Helle's biggest salsas since its launch in 1994. The knife is lightweight and the handle has a classic, ergonomic Scandinavian style cut with a small finger stop at the front. The blade is shiny and has a Scandinavian cut, which makes it the perfect companion for a trip to the mountains.

In 2022, we launched the Fjellkniven in 12C27 steel – the same look and feel, only now with a single-layer blade steel.

Choosing between 12C27 and H3LS (laminated) depends on how you want to use your knife. 12C27 is a stiff steel that gives a different feel. The fully hardened blade (since it is not laminated) can also be sharpened to a sharp spine, for anyone considering using a knife with a sharpening steel.

The knife is packed in a classic Scandinavian cognac-colored leather sheath.
