In 1991, a glacier mummy was discovered in South Tyrol. Taken as a sensation, the mummy was affectionately dubbed "Ötzi" and proved to be a treasure trove for archaeologists and early history researchers. At the time of his death, the Neolithic hunter had in his kit a knife consisting of a flint blade and a wooden handle. Inspired by this knife, designer Joe Fowlers created the Condor Ötzi knife with a contoured, forged 1095 carbon steel blade and a wooden handle wrapped twice with brass wire. A knife like a hand ax - small but durable and reduced to the essentials, dating back to the days when the knife was still an essential everyday survival tool. A handcrafted leather scabbard is the perfect complement to this archaic and unique cutting tool.
