RTL-SDR V4 – check out what the new version can do
The RTL-SDR V4 features several improvements over the original versions, including the use of the R828D tuner, a triple input filter, a notch filter, improved components, a 1 PPM temperature compensated oscillator (TCXO), an SMA F connector, an aluminum case with passive cooling, a bias circuit, an improved power supply and a built-in HF converter.
Important information:
RTL-SDR V4 is a newer design and requires an update to the latest drivers to operate. Before purchasing, make sure you understand that not all applications work with V4 yet ! - Download SDRSharp
- Download the latest ddl (Release.zip) https://github.com/rtlsdrblog/rtl-sdr-blog/releases
- Unpacking sdrsharp somewhere on your PC, then copying to the sdrsharp dll folder: rtlsdr.dll, msvcr100.dll, pthreadVC2.dll.
- Running the install-rtlsdr.bat script
- Connecting RTL-SDR V4 to a computer
- Enabling zadig.exe
- Installing WinUSB drivers using Zadig for "Bulk-In, Interface (Interface 0)"
- Enabling SDRSharp, in the "Source" settings select RTL-SDR USB"
- Adjust RF gain because default is very low.
