Want to turn your uConsole into a true mobile command centre? AIO V2 (All-In-One) is an expansion board that adds seven key features to your uConsole in a single module: SDR receiver, LoRa/Meshtastic module, GPS, real-time clock (RTC), USB 3.0 hub, 1 Gbps Ethernet port and an internal USB-C port.
Instead of buying a separate RTL-SDR, GPS module and Ethernet adapter - everything fits on a single board inside the uConsole case. No external cables. Full integration.
What's included in our kit:
At Sapsan Store we sell the version with the antenna mounting kit and a full set of antennas - ready to use right after installation, no extra accessories needed.
What you get after installing AIO V2
- RTL-SDR (100 kHz - 1.74 GHz) - a full-featured radio receiver for spectrum analysis, signal decoding, ADS-B (aircraft tracking) and shortwave listening. Equipped with a TCXO oscillator (minimal temperature drift) and 5V bias tee for powering active antennas and LNAs.
- LoRa / Meshtastic (SX1262, 860-960 MHz, 22 dBm) - long-range, low-power communication. Ideal for internet-free mesh networks, IoT sensors and off-grid communication.
- GPS (GPS/BDS/GNSS) - precise positioning with active and passive GPS antenna support. Useful for mapping, drones and route tracking.
- RTC (PCF85063A + CR1220 battery) - the uConsole lacks a built-in real-time clock. AIO V2 fixes this - time is preserved even after power-off. Essential for data logging and time-dependent scripts.
- USB Hub + USB 3.0 - an external USB-C port on the side and an internal USB-C port plus pin header. With CM5, speeds up to USB 3.0.
- RJ45 Ethernet 1 Gbps - wired internet for uConsole. Requires the adapter from the uConsole Upgrade Kit.
Getting started - one command setup
In AIO V2, the SDR, GPS and LoRa modules are off by default - this is intentional to save battery. Activate them with a single command after logging in:
sudo apt install hackergadgets-uconsole-aio-board
After a reboot all modules are ready to use. Quick start for each module below:
RTL-SDR (radio listening)
- Connect the antenna to the IPEX connector labelled "SDR" on the board
- Install SDR++:
sudo apt install sdrpp
- Launch:
sdrpp - select RTL-SDR as source, set frequency and click Play
- Test: tune to a local FM station (WFM) - you should hear radio
GPS
- Connect the antenna to the IPEX connector labelled "GPS"
- Add to
/boot/firmware/config.txt: enable_uart=1 (CM4) or dtparam=uart0 (CM5)
- Check GPS data:
sudo minicom -D /dev/ttyS0 -b 9600
- Go outside - GPS needs open sky to acquire signal
LoRa / Meshtastic
- Connect the 915 MHz antenna to the IPEX connector labelled "LoRa"
- Install Meshtasticd:
sudo apt install meshtasticd
- Configure the module in
/etc/meshtasticd/config.yaml - chip: sx1262
- Meshtastic creates a mesh network without internet - range up to several km between nodes
RTC (real-time clock)
- No additional configuration needed after package installation - works automatically
- Check:
sudo hwclock -r - should display current time
- Time is preserved after power-off thanks to the CR1220 battery
Important installation note
After installing AIO V2, make sure the ribbon cable is connected according to the instructions. Incorrect connection while charging may damage the uConsole mainboard.
