Do I need a separate SDR receiver?
Yes. This is an antenna kit — you need an RTL-SDR V4 or V3 receiver separately. Connect the receiver to the antenna via SMA cable, and to your computer via USB. Everything works with free software: SDR# (Windows), GQRX (Linux/Mac), or CubicSDR.
Can I mount the antenna outside?
The kit includes a window suction cup and 3 m cable extension, allowing you to place the antenna at a window or on glass. For permanent roof mounting a dedicated outdoor antenna is better, but this kit is ideal for getting started and mobile use.
