FAQ - AC1200 USB-C WiFi Card

Does this card support monitor mode?
Yes. The AC1200 based on the MediaTek MT7921AUN chipset has full monitor mode support on Linux. You can capture packets, analyze network traffic, and perform WiFi security audits.
Does it fit inside uConsole?
Yes — the card is designed for internal installation inside the uConsole case together with the AIO V2 board. USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 connector fits the USB-C port in uConsole. Dimensions 48 x 20 mm — fits inside easily.
What WiFi standards does it support?
WiFi 6/6E (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax) — tri-band: 2.4 GHz (600 Mbps), 5 GHz (1200 Mbps), 6 GHz (1200 Mbps). Up to 3000 Mbps with a compatible WiFi 6E router. Plus built-in Bluetooth 5.2.
Can I swap the antennas?
Yes. The card has 4 IPEX U.FL connectors — 2 for WiFi and 2 for Bluetooth. You can replace antennas with more powerful ones and increase range. Ideal for wardriving and field audits.
How is it different from an Alfa adapter?
The AC1200 USB-C is an internal card for uConsole — mounts inside the case, zero external cables. Alfa adapters (e.g., AWUS036AXM) are external USB dongles. Both support monitor mode, but AC1200 integrates with uConsole.
Do I need additional drivers?
On newer Linux kernels (5.12+) the MT7921 driver is built-in. Works out of the box with Kali Linux, ParrotOS, and other pentesting distributions. No extra installation needed.
