FAQ - KIISU V4BR - Flipper Zero Alternative

Do I need any DIY skills?
No. The board is ready to use, LIR2032 battery included. The only extra thing you need - a microSD card (not included in the kit). Insert it into KIISU and flash the firmware the same way as on Flipper Zero. We recommend the official KIISU firmware (github.com/kiisu-io/kiisu-firmware). You flash via USB-C (one-click installer in tools like qFlipper). Pinout and ports are identical to the Flipper.
Does Flipper Zero firmware work out-of-the-box?
Yes, with a caveat. KIISU is not manufactured by Flipper Labs, so it lacks factory keys - after flashing original Flipper firmware, you'll see "No Factory Keys Found. Secure enclosure is damaged. Some apps will not work". This only affects SubGHz rolling codes and U2F - everything else works normally. In stock KIISU firmware this notification is hidden. The recommended firmware is the official KIISU firmware (github.com/kiisu-io/kiisu-firmware).
How does it compare to Flipper Zero?
KIISU is smaller (credit card format instead of tamagotchi), cheaper, dual-MCU (more power - aux 170 MHz). It has a built-in OLED screen displaying white pixels - crisp and bright. GPIO 2x9 is pin-compatible with Flipper Zero.
External CC1101 antenna - why?
The built-in antenna covers short range. An external one significantly extends range and improves sensitivity with weak signals - useful for range testing and distant smart locks.
What GPIO accessories work with KIISU?
GPIO 2x9 is pin-compatible with Flipper Zero, so most shields from the Flipper ecosystem work without modifications. In our store you'll find MAXIMUS CC1101 Board Amplifier SubGHz (SubGHz signal booster) and Feberis Pro (advanced expansion board with SubGHz + NRF24 + WiFi).
How long does the LIR2032 battery last?
Weeks in idle mode, hours of intensive use (CC1101 TX, NFC emulation). Charging via USB-C.
Support and warranty?
RainWalker OU as developer + community (Discord, GitHub). SAPSAN as the Polish distributor provides warranty support in Poland (returns and complaints in accordance with EU consumer law).
