HackRF is a project by Michael Ossmann and Great Scott Gadgets - an American company specializing in hardware for security researchers. The entire platform is open source: hardware, firmware, schematics, which makes it a standard in academic environments, at DEF CON conferences, and in pentest labs worldwide.
