A high-performance low-noise amplifier (LNA) for improving 1090 MHz ADS-B reception. The LNA uses a low-noise MGA-13116 two-stage amplifier circuit and three stages of filtering, so that strong signals or interference do not overload either the amplifier or the SDR dongle.
The LNA can help improve ADS-B reception by lowering the noise level and helping to reduce losses in the coaxial cable and/or in other elements such as switches and connectors in the RF path. To get the best performance from the LNA, it must be placed as close to the antenna as possible.
The antenna should be connected to the SMA IN socket.
The LNA requires a 3.3 - 5V BIAS power supply (through the coaxial cable connected to the SMA OUT +5V socket).
The RTL-SDR V3 available in our shop has a suitable BIAS power supply, which can be activated via software.
